Selling your books online Print E-mail

As I type, I am selling my text books on eBay.

Every quarter I see these organizations - Rugby Club, Hockey Team, etc. - buying back books to raise money. Why shouldn't I do this for my self?

Well, I'm starting to think it's not that easy.

Books that you can't sell back at the bookstores uptown probably won't find a home on any Web site. I put two up on eBay, but am not expecting to sell them.

I checked out Cash4Books.net, a way easier way to sell books back than Amazon or eBay, and was immediately told my books are worth diddly.

The worse part of it all is the professors refuse to create a market for used books because they always require the newest editions, even when those newer editions tell the same story at three times the price.

It's a conspiracy theory, but the book companies must have a relationship with the different colleges. I have no evidence to back this up, but it does not make sense that professors do this to students.

The worse example of this for me was an American Literature class with a $180 anthology that was the eighth edition of stories dating back 200 years. Why couldn't she just list the stories we would read, and let me go to the library to find them for free?

The best way to save on books is to utilize the library. You need to be up on renewals, but you get an e-mail reminder and can renew them on the Alden Web site. With the state's inter-library loan program, OhioLINK, you can find almost any book you may need.

Just don't tell too many people because you'll end up screwing yourself if this technique catches on.

You won't have to worry about me snatching up that English book anymore, however, because I'm graduating (that word just reads so good in situations like this).
