Theater troupe tries hand at film noir

May 15, 2008

This Friday and Saturday, the Lost Flamingo Company will present “Earth and Sky” by Douglas Post, a dark thriller inspired by film noir.  The show will be in Ohio University’s Baker Center Theatre at 8 p.m.

“Earth and Sky” is set in downtown Chicago. Its plot revolves around crime, passion, and one woman’s search for the truth about the recent death of her lover.

“People should know they are about to behold something special. The show is a non-stop thriller,” said junior theater major Mike Reynolds, director of the play.

This quarter, Lost Flamingo Company is also bringing an experimental theater piece to Athens on Sunday, May 18. “One Night Stand” will examine womanhood in all its forms and will be performed in the arch of Seigfried Hall that evening.

Lost Flamingo Company is also performing the Tony-award-winning drama “Proof” in Mitchell Auditorium May 23 and 24. The final show of the quarter is the company’s annual musical at ARTS/West, “Bat Boy: The Musical,” on May 30 and 31 as well as June 6 and 7.
