Assault charge…

A Stewart man has been charged with felonious assault, after he allegedly shot another man from that village with a 12-gauge shotgun.
Mark Allen Goins, 45, is currently being held in the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail. He is alleged to have shot Anthony W. Mayle, 39, last Thursday.
A news release from the Athens County Sheriff’s Office reported that the shotgun blast inflicted “serious physical harm” to Mayle, and he had to be taken first to O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, then to Grant Medical Center in Columbus.
Mayle was listed in stable condition when he was transported to Columbus. According to Grant, he was discharged from that hospital Friday.
